Although we work hard to make our events free and accessible for fans, Chicago Doctor Who Meetup does this at some expense. These include monthly Meetup.com hosting fees, Zoom subscriptions, audio and video purchases, and marketing and organizational expenses. In addition, this is not our organizing team’s day job, and many of our expenses are out of pocket. So if you’re looking to help keep the Meetup moving through the 60th anniversary, we have some great suggestions!
If You Want to Support Us Financially...
Become a Patreon Sponsor - If you want to donate smaller amounts over a longer period of time, please consider becoming a monthly (or yearly) Patreon sponsor. Your monthly sponsorship covers many costs and ensures that we can thrive and survive. We also have some great tiers (including episode and audio selection), and you can join for less than two dollars a month. Members receive exclusive updates, first-look access, and other great perks, so join us today!
Donate directly - If you can't support us on a monthly basis, but want to keep us going, you can make a one-time donation via Ko-Fi, PayPal, or Venmo. (Starting in 2023, we will have the ability to take credit card donations at in-person meetups) (Note – we are entirely transparent about how we use member donations, and those go directly into the meetup. We issue an annual report at the end of the year, which includes our purchases, updates on activities, and future plans! )
If You Want Other Options to Support Us...
Share Our Information via Social Media - Think someone else might enjoy our events? Retweet, repost, and share our content! Sharing our Facebook, Twitter, and Patreon posts help us get the word out. (You’re also welcome to subscribe to our monthly email newsletter). Thanks to members like you, our Doctor Who meetup reaches the widest possible audience! Keep us top-of-mind online with a simple share!
Invite People Via Meetup and Facebook – We encourage you to invite people when our events go live via Meetup and Facebook. (You can even sign up and forward our monthly email newsletter). Even if they can’t make it, it provides a great opportunity to expand our reach and provide access to people who can’t attend other Doctor Who events. We pride ourselves on being small and grass-roots, and your efforts can help us make the most of our limited resources.
Volunteer - We have much ground to cover in the Chicago area, and we could always use help/backup when it comes to running both in-person and online events.
